The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) said Wednesday that its first, specifically designed Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) testing track is more than 90% finished.
The 20-acre "ADAS Test City" in Takwe, Pune, close to Talegaon, is intended to serve as a mock city that mimics Indian traffic systems. It will be finished by December 12 in time for the ADAS Show.
In order to make sure that ADAS features function well in actual Indian driving circumstances, the test city will allow the automobile industry to test and validate ADAS in a safer, secure, repeatable, and regulated environment. It is the first road network in the nation designed specifically for ADAS validation in "on-road" scenarios.
India has serious road safety problems, according to Ujwala Karle, Deputy Director of ARAI, with data indicating 1.68 lakh fatalities in the previous year. According to Karle, driver error accounts for almost 80% of these fatalities, underscoring the urgency of taking action.

Regarding the requirement for specialized training in India, she stated that other Indian road conditions would also be considered at this track.
