1. What is Up-Tech 2021?
Up-Tech is an up-levelling program hosted by TechNovuus, an indigenous, multi-domain collaborative platform developed under the guidance of Department of Heavy Industry (DHI), Govt. of India, with the aim of enabling our brightest minds to unlock the potential of new technologies and innovations to shape the future of Mobility.
With the aim of directly enhancing and empowering indigenous Innovation and technology development, ARAI through TechNovuus has launched UpTech-a technology up-levelling program for a multitude of mobility related problem statements. The program, launched on the auspicious occasion of our nation’s 75th Independence Day, provides access to a wide range of support mechanisms, including Technology up-levelling, incubation, collaboration, mentoring, tools & resources, funding and a lot more for start-ups, MSMEs and individual innovators in the mobility ecosystem. Along with leveraging a strong industrial support system, the first phase of UpTech provides access to a funding pool of over a crore rupees.
Up-Tech aims to simultaneously solve and address key problem statements relevant to India by identifying, enabling and supporting organisations and individuals develop indigenous solutions. TechNovuus and its partner organisation organisations aim to achieve this by offering:
Incubation Support - (services including funding support, management, mentorship, co-working space, technological assistance, mentoring, IP support, business development, or everything that is required for a start-up to grow).
Technological up-levelling and financial support will be provided by TechNovuus, ARAI while entities not currently incubated but requiring incubation support would be referred to our incubation partner.

3. What are the Problem Statements one can participate in?
Under the first Up-levelling scheme, the following problem statements have been posted:
Power Module Development For EV Chargers (AC To DC Convertor) |
Large scale deployment of AC and DC chargers is the key to quick and effective adoption of electric vehicles in India. However, it is equally crucial that the technologies used in the deployed chargers are indigenized, while meeting global standards. One such critical component of the EV charger is the power module. This challenge entails the development of modular and stackable power modules for deployment in EV chargers. |
Enhancing Driver And Traffic Safety By Determining Driver Drowsiness |
Enhancing driver and traffic safety by determining driver drowsiness. the challenge demands the innovator to develop a system to alert the driver against fatigue and sleepiness which will in turn decrease no. of accidents and ensure better road safety. |
Ferrite Based Motor Development For 2/3 Wheeler Electric Vehicle Application |
Develop an innovative tractive motor and drive solution that utilizes ferrite-based PM (Permanent Magnet) material with sufficient power density, wide operational RPM range, regeneration capable and reliable. |
Developing Customized Personal Safety Equipment Using Additive Manufacturing Techniques |
Identify unique indigenous solutions using the flexibility of additive manufacturing to come up with customized personal safety equipment with cost, performance or other advantages over current solutions. |
Developing Driverless/automated Utility Vehicles For Off Road Application And Hazardous Tasks |
Develop a value add, cost effective solution to reduce man hours, improve safety & efficiency for large scale, hazardous or repetitive workloads in agricultural or off highway vehicles. |
Creating A Database And A Virtual Model For Simulating Battery Statistics Using AI-ML |
This challenge entails the creation of an accurate, configurable and modular virtual model of an energy storage system, for simulation and performance through an equivalent circuit model. |
Solutions For Safer, Efficient And Locally Adaptable Mobility |
We seek to kick start identification of technological problems faced by Indian Industry and Society, and challenge to bring forward indigenous solutions. Eligible individuals, teams & entities can apply for solving the challenge wherein, the solution may enhance human experience, facilitate better engineering or boost efficiency in the mobility sector. |
