For the purpose of implementing ADAS for M2, M3, and N2, N3, the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways has published draft notification GSR 184(E) dated March 20, 2025.

New Models' Implementation Date: April 1, 2026
Current Models: October 1, 2026
Vehicles in the M2, M3, and N2, N3 categories must have the following installed:
1. AIS-184's requirements for driver drowsiness and attention warning systems
2. Information systems for blind spots as defined by AIS-186,
3. Discontinuing Information Systems in accordance with AIS-187,
4. According to AIS-188, the Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS)
5. The AIS-162 specification for Advanced Emergency Braking Systems
