The patented technology was created by Kanak Talware, a chemical engineering student at Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College (JNEC), MGM University, to turn sugarcane juice into bioethanol, a renewable fuel that might lessen reliance on fossil fuels.
He collaborated closely with mentors Dr. Annasaheb Varade and Ravindra Nibe from Pravara Rural Engineering College, Loni, as well as Dr. Ravindra Gaikwad and Akash Vani from MGM University. The five researchers worked together to obtain the patent from the Indian government.
