Continental, the German multinational automotive parts manufacturing company, on Wednesday said that it will showcase a slew of innovative software and hardware solutions at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition from April 21 to 28, 2021.
The new solutions will facilitate the integration of software functions in-vehicle components, Continental said in a release.
They include high-tech radar sensors, high-performance computers as central control units in the vehicle and data communication through to the cloud as part of telematics systems.
The company will unveil the sixth generation of radar sensors to make autonomous mobility safer. According to the company, the new radar sensor solutions will enable anticipatory applications for Euro NCAP requirements through higher automated driving functions such as automated lane changes. The technical features of the sixth generation, which will go into production in 2023, include an improved detection range and a higher resolution for accurate detection of the vehicle’s surroundings, the company informed.
