Short-term Summer Programme on Design Thinking, Smart Manufacturing and Incubation at CPDM, IISc

IISc Smart Factory at the Centre for Product Design & Manufacturing (CPDM) – Indian Institute of Science (IISc), calls for application to participate in the short-term summer programme on Design Thinking, Smart Manufacturing and Incubation, to be offered on a competitive basis. 

 

The Centre for Product Design & Manufacturing (CPDM), Indian Institute of Science (IISc) initiated India’s first Smart Factory R&D Platform in 2014. It is now expanded into a Common Engineering Facility Centre (CEFC) for Industry 4.0 under the Samarth Udyog Bharat 4.0 Programme of the Department of Heavy Industries (DHI), Govt of India. It has a demonstration platform for smart factory showcasing the ‘state of the art’ technologies, to be used for R&D, and for supporting innovation, startups and training programmes.

The Summer Programme includes: 

  • Exposure to the Design Thinking Process, mentored, guided sessions for real-world open-ended problem-solving, and access to Design Thinking digital tools.
  • Exposure to Smart Factory platform and technologies: Industry 4.0, Digital Manufacturing, Additive Manufacturing, Robotics, Digital Twins, IoT, AR/VR, etc. 
  • Exposure to Incubation and Testing Facilities. 

 

Eligibility: 

Pre-final and final year Engineering/ Architecture/ Design students. 
 
Duration: 4 Weeks (Monday – Friday

 

Mode of delivery: In-Person (Physical) 

 

Programme dates:
1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th Batch: 6 June – 1 July 2022
5th, 6th, 7th and 8th Batch: 4 July – 29 July 2022
